Big Night History
18 Years and Counting…
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay (BBBSMB) is one of the nation’s leading one-to-one mentoring programs that is making a real difference in the lives of the youth we serve. For 17 years, Big Night has raised more than $30 million resulting in the creation of more than 12,000 one-on-one friendships between young people and adult mentors. Big Night, BBBSMB’s largest fundraiser and most rocking upscale cocktail party and concert, has been hailed “party of the year” time and time again. Past entertainment has included an eclectic all-star mix, from funk and reggae to pop, and rock to soul: Flo Rida, Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats, The Goo Goo Dolls, Shaggy, The Black Crowes, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, The Counting Crows, Blondie, Michael Franti, and many more. Each year guests come ready to party, feast on fine cuisine, and dance the night away to live music – all for a great cause!
James J. Pallotta Award
Big Night is the brainchild of Jim Pallotta, former Tudor Investment Corporation Principal and Chairman of Raptor Capital Management. Because of Jim’s tireless efforts, creativity and determination, to engage countless members of our community in Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay’s mission, we established the James J. Pallotta Award. The award recognizes an individual or individuals who have successfully engaged in supporting at risk children and whose efforts have had significant impact in the community.
